Canoe Club Wine Bar Canoe Club Wine Bar Lakeside Marblehead, OH Lakeside Marblehead, OH Full-time Full-time $18 - $20 an hour $18 - $20 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago The Front of House (FOH) Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation and FOH management of the Canoe Club Wine Bar as well as assisting in event and private party catering operations.
The FOH Manager is responsible for employee scheduling and supervision of FOH staff, while assisting the Owner as needed in all aspects of the restaurant operations, with special emphasis on FOH functions and responsibilities.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Ensure that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and guidelines, are followed.
Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
Work with Kitchen Manager to ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
Manage a team of FOH staff and perform personnel actions and supervisory activities such as:
o Creating work schedules (implementing labor by anticipated business activity) and monitoring employee clock ins/outs; adjusting labor as needed to achieve cost effectiveness.
o Observe and evaluate workers, work procedures, and service to ensure quality standards are met.
o Assist Owner in interviewing job applicants, conducting performance reviews, completing disciplinary write-ups, and training FOH staff, while also participating with Kitchen Manager in training for kitchen staff if needed.
Responsible for the correct and accurate operation of the POS systems and assist with balancing receipts at the end of the day or shift if needed.
Maintain the Waitlist as needed during busy periods and manage phone calls and Take-Out orders so that Dine-In operations remain efficient.
Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
Assist with event and private party/catering functions.
Assist Owner in review of operations including but not limited to staffing, prices, waste management, menus, special-events, and hours.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Fully understand, monitor, and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
Know local, state, and federal regulations for food and the sale and distribution of alcohol.
Complete Ohio Department of Health Person-In-Charge (PIC) Level One Food Safety Certification.
Additional Duties:
Supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.
Perform some food preparation or service tasks, such as cooking, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary.
Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Monitor inventories of food/beverages, equipment, small wares, etc.
and report shortages or restaurant needs to Owner.
Monitor equipment for proper function and maintenance.
Forecast staff, equipment, and supply requirements, based on menu and business levels.
Conduct meetings and collaborate with other personnel for menu planning, serving arrangements, and related tasks.
Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
Other relevant duties as assigned by the Owner.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
